Bamboo was co-founded in 2019 by Richmond Bassey and Yanmo Omorogbe with a simple idea: investing in global markets shouldn't require a foreign bank account, a broker with a minimum-deposit requirement, or paperwork most first-time investors find intimidating.
Bamboo started by giving Nigerians a way to buy fractional shares of U.S. companies from their phone, and has since expanded into Nigerian stocks, savings, treasury bills, and dollar-denominated fixed income, with a growing footprint across Ghana, South Africa, and the diaspora.

Regulation and Trust
Bamboo is registered with Nigeria's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a Digital Sub-Broker. In South Africa, Bamboo is registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) as a Category 1 Financial Services Provider. Through its affiliate, Bamboo Securities LLC, Bamboo is a broker-dealer registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), giving customers access to U.S. markets through a regulated brokerage entity. Customers can independently verify this registration through FINRA BrokerCheck.
Bamboo also operates under partnerships with Tenth Capital and Kestrel Capital in Ghana and Kenya, respectively. Both are regulated by the respective capital market authorities.
